Confession #6: I don’t know what I’m doing!!!

Along the way, I’ve been learning how to do it. Mistakes were (are being) made. Anytime you do something new, there is a learning curve. Anytime you’ve wanted to do something bad enough, you just did it. There was no manual to explain to you the mechanics of walking; there was no curriculum for surviving adolescence; there was no consensus between experts on how to raise a child, but you did it anyway. You did all of these things and you learned along the way.I’m not saying it’s not worth listening to some experts, doing some reading, and getting some advice. I’m all about learning and growing and being informed. In fact, I think I may be addicted to learning. What I’m saying is you don’t have to have everything perfectly in place before you start. Otherwise you’ll never start. The learning will happen and the learning is continuous and imperfect. I’m still learning. But, I’m doing it. By doing it, I’m realizing I can do it.

Lesson #6: If you wait to do it until you know how to do it, it won’t get done.
